Easter Island, CLA, 01:25:37 AM
The barren yet beautiful landscape of Easter Island was surprisingly dormant this morning. Few of the Rapanui population were awake, especially considering the evacuations several years before. Some stirred restlessly in bed or looked warily to the hillside guarded by the moai. Others were comforted by the fact that, in the past few years, Melba had taken no interest in their own activity.
The Sky-Rending Monster, Melba had claimed Easter Island as its home for the past six years. It had carved a massive indentation into the side of Cerro Terevaka, along the border with Cerro Puhi. What little settlements were in the area had since been abandoned or relocated, and Melba's presence had hampered the boom in Easter Island tourism. Without the necessary funding by the CLA for a barrier or more advanced defenses, the remaining population lived only by Melba's graces.
Nonetheless, there was a boon to the alien's presence. The waters that were once threatened by sea monsters were notably cleared of threats now, and generally kept the region around the former nation of Chile clear of larger threats. It was this unintended protection that annoyed the UNA, who had received the brunt of Melba's attacks in the past, but they refused to offer valuable weapons to destroy Melba themselves.
So Melba remained. The past month's events had included an incursion to Japanese airspace, the extinction of a particular species of sea serpent native to the Pacific, and an attack on a smaller Mexican state on the Pacific coast. Satisfied with its work for now, Melba slept. Its back propped against the mountain's new cliffside, the sky terror dreamed of the stars.

Michael stared out of his speed bout at the small island. The huge monster he had been sent to research now slept there, he could see Melba clearly now, being only a few miles off-shore. He watched the sleeping alien, so peaceful, just like all Kaiju were when they slept. He could only hope the islanders would be as inviting as their island.

Suddenly, there was a disturbance in the sea near Moto Nui islet. With a large splash and an agressive bellow, Red King announced his arival to Easter Island. The heavily muscled beast flexed it's arms and cracked it's knuckles. It had been a long swim from the Monster Lawless Zone and even longer since he had fought a decent opponent.
He stepped onto the shore and began kicking and throwing Moai statues, sending several crashing into a nearby village. Noticing several people fleeing the village, he made a point to brutally stomp on them as well as slam his tail into a beat up looking bus, a remnant from the 20th century. He enjoyed the destruction, but it was not enough. Bellowing in frustration and beating his chest, he roared at the setting sun, seemingly demanding a sacrificial victim to slaughter to temporarily satiate his blood lust.

Michael stared in horror at the beast that had arisen on shore. He wasn't even a whole mile away now and had all he could do to not wet himself. It was indeed the terrorizing beast that was more frightening than any other: Red King! Suddenly, there was a bumping sound as his shore hit land...
"Oh shit."

At first, the commotion, Red King's bellows and the crushing of earth and concrete, the cries of fear and mercy, did nothing to disturb Melba's slumber. The chaos of its mind was sufficient to ignore these minor external nuisances.
Then from Red King's grasp flew a particular moai statue. With impossibly perfect aim, it flew in an arc across the island and struck Melba squarely on its head. Its beak dropped open from the attack, and Melba's eyes glowed to life. A loud SCRAAAAAAAAWK echoed through Easter Island as Melba rose to challenge the unknown intruder.
Gliding from the mountain slope to the coast, Melba promptly sighted its quarry. An odd golden-green beast with banded armor and a pinhead was roughly stomping about the island and destroying the settlements. Melba held no attachment to the tiny flesh creatures that lived here, but neither did it have any tolerance for intruders to its roost. Melba squaked a warning to the beast and extended its wings fully in a display of contempt for Red King.

A swell of rage mixed with joy filled Red King's mind. A terrible "Shparrr!" cry echoed throughout the island, followed by stomping and threatning arm posturing. Red King then kicked several more statues along with several volcanic boulders at Melba.

As the projectiles flew towards Melba, it folded its wings together to avoid damage while swatting the rock away effortlessly. If this was all the challenge Red King had to offer, he would be roasted alive in due time, making for an excellent meal. Melba squawked again and reopened its wings, then dove at Red King, lashing its claws at his tiny head.

Nestled quietly in the strata below a silent and brooding evil did what he did best. he watched. several long tendrals snaked out through the cavern roof up to the surface. each was topped with a single eyeball that unceasingly monitered the fight. he carefully watched the battle from all angles, being certain to keep his little observers hidden from sight. [glow=red,2,300]Perhaps the time has come...[/glow] he spoke to himself, debating on what to do. [glow=red,2,300]Maybe watch some more...
GO NOW... PAIN... I NEED PAIN...[/glow]
his mind argued back. he had been starved of what he desired for too long. it was time to make this world above his as well.
The earth shook violently as flesshy orange tendrils began to emerge from the ground. dust kicked up and obscured the light. when the dust settled, Watcher stood, anchored on his pilar of tendrils that branched out around him, some coming to points, others ending in ever-staring eyeballs. [glow=red,2,300]I WATCH... YOUR... FEAR...[/glow] his dark voice boomed in the minds of all present, and his one large eye seemed to focus on everyone at once.

Ignoring the new comer, Red King swungit's heavily muscled tail at Melba, hardly noticng the trickling of blood flowing down his face from the gash from Melba's taon attack.

Mike was busy taking notes the the creatures, and on the fight itself. He needed a name for the new kaiju, he thought of what it said. Then he got the name, Watcher! He began drawing a picture of him, this would make him famous!

(OOC: Due to Firefox, I can't see glow-text either. Meh. Oh, and sorry about the minor delay. Wanted to have a more grandiose response, but it took too damn long!)
Melba had only a moment to enjoy to revel in drawing first blood against Red King when his muscular tail made an impact on it. It struck against Melba's back legs and threw the flying kaiju's balance off. Waverig from its course, Melba crashed unceremoniously into the beach, skidding to a stop amongst several boats devastated by the impact.
While Melba rose to strike back against Red King, it finally took notice of the third kaiju on the island - correction, its island - and the psychic energy it radiated. Its message was of fear and superiority, and perhaps it would affect the tiny fleshlings that lived on Melba's land, but its own mind was a labryinth with no exit, and the message fell on deaf ears.
Regaining its dignity (and gathering energy into its body), Melba screeched in anger at the intruders as a final warning before true damage would be wrought.

Red King by now has turned it's back on Melba and was intent on sending the new beast to it's grave. With a roar, he opened his mouth and spat a volley of ten energy spears at the writhing mass of tentacles and eyestalks and then throwing a mssive boulder into the center of the mass.

Watcher blinked once, then his skin became angular and rigid. the ten energy balls collided with his mass, scorching his outer skin. the boulder cracked in two when it hit his rock hard defense. his skin softened again and he sent several tenticals toward Red King in effert to restrict his movement. to add to the attack, his eyestalks launched a barrage of Optic Lasers in Red king's direction.
