Gennadi was troubled by Cortez's interest in using the island for his own gain but didn't show it, he made a mental note to try and get the island protected from exploitation once they were done here.
"As we have seen in the past, government funded mecha programs haven't always been successful and the cost of which to build, run and maintain their own large scale mech is never something tax payers are ever happy about. Kong on the other hand will be used by Olympus Corp to defend against aggressive kaiju wherever they strike and will be handled and care for by our own finances. We will work with the anti-kaiju agencies like G-Force to help keep the peace."

Cortez gave the man who spoke a heated glare, "You feel that the machines we are employing now aren't a match for the biological ingenuity of the kaiju. My dear sir, you have been oblivious to the events over the past years where kaiju have become little more than annoyances for a simple city defense force. Look at the recent skirmish in San Francisco for example, but I agree the debate is not for here and now. I'm simply getting bored with the long trip and Gennadi's PR speeches. I'm sure Olympus will do its best to utilize Kong to his fullest potential, but it will not be a project I'd invest in if you take my meaning." Cortez returned to his seat with a look of satisfaction on his face knowing that he had created an interesting stir amongst those assembled.
OOC: Sorry I left this window open for 30 minutes after I thought I posted. Belongs before Sirrush, but it kinda still works.

The boat suddenly jerked as a strong wave smashed into the side of the vessel, sending various people and objects sliding backwards and forwards as the ship fought its way through the increasingly stormy weather. Gennadi picked himself up and quickly headed for the bridge of the ship, his aids helping people in the dinning hall and calling for calm.

More than happy to have just sat down Cortez graped onto his table as some of his neighbors fell from their seats. Amidst the chaos Cortez saw one of his guards tumble and crash into a nearby table. Memorizing the face so he could fire him after this trip Cortez grimaced as waited for the rumbling to subside.

Michael followed Gennadi to the bridge, stopping next to him.
"Please tell me this operation has a way to deal with the fog and rough waves."

"Please return to the dinner hall for your own safety sir" Said one of Gennadi's assistants
Gennadi himself however was clinging anything solid as the boat was swept up and crashed down again as it rolled on the stormy waves, his face however showed no fear. "This operation will cut through this storm, don't worry we will get through, we must get through"
The boat was once again struck by another wave, lightning cracked across the sky, the ominous shapes of fearsome looking statues broke through the frothing, angery waters.

The assistant's words were drowned out by the waves and Mike's own amazement at the statues. He saw the man motioning him to the dinning hall and he turned to leave,
"For all our sakes, I hope your right."
He entered the dinning hall, clinging to the wall. Then, another wave hit and sent Michael tumbling into the wall. His head slammed into it and he fell over, he half sat and half laid against the wall. The room was spinning in front of him.

Asaguri saw the man slam violently into the wall, and ran over. he helped the dizzy man up to a chair at the nearest table. "Easy, my friend. Perhaps you should stay in a seat untill this turbulence subsides." he extended his hand. "I'm Dr. Asaiuri. but call me Akira."

Michael put his hand on his head, the spinning slowly stopping. He shook Akira's hand.
"I thought turbulence was only a term for planes. Michael Gibbous, call me Michael, Mike makes me fell less smart."
He chuckled.

Cortez glimpsed out of the window at the statues, they held no value to him however only the land and its resources for his needs. Once Gennadi had removed Kong from the island it would be a simple enough task to wipe everything else out, pest control for his new properity.
The ship narrowly missed crashing into one of the larger statues and jerked suddenly as the crew struggled to keep her from tipping over. Out of the fog the Island began to loom into a solid shape. They were almost there.

OOC: hmm to be honest I'm beginning to think it may be better to skip all this messing about on the island and just let you introduce Kong like a regular kaiju rather then have you captured

The ship lurched again as a large wave smashed into its side, sweeping it almost into another rock, the crew struggled again to keep the ship from being smashed to pieces. Then the cry rang out as the Island toward over them, a bleak rocky landscape of ruins ands weathered stone, the storm dying down as the ship began to settle. Gennadi stood on the deck alongside with some of the crew and passengers who came out to gasp in awe at the landscape before them, even with the rain beating down upon them they had regained some courage after the terror of the storm.
"Captain, organise two landing parties and find us safe passage onto the beach, have another team prepare the ship for our cargo and another group to ready our guests for setting foot on the island." As the Captain made to begin the preparation, Gennadi stared at the bleak shore and could swear someone or something was staring back...

From his rocky outcropping of a home, the king stood. On this ledge, the ledge that he had spied on the other denizens of the island, the natives offering their females to him, the reptiles that he battled, he spied something he did not recognize. And to him, something he did not recognize could mean trouble.
Kong rose to full height, extended both arms into the air, and released a roar that could be hard all over the island.
