The year is 2154. The world is no longer a place of combustion engines and integrated circuits. It is a place of nanoatmospheres and plasma boards. Things that were considered cutting edge in previous Wars would be affectionately considered as antiques in this world of the future.
To give players an idea of the kinds of technologies that can be considered commonplace, here are several sheets that descrive personel weapons and devices, cubernetic implants, vehicle and starship equipment, and mecha armaments.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Personel Weaponry
These are weapons used by humanoids, and generally ineffective against giant enemies.
Ammunition can come in various types, such as:
Bio-Agent: which house a miniscule amount of a biological weapon inside an insulated chamber in the round.
Deflecting: rounds which have tiny gravity fields about them so as to bounce off of walls.
Plasma-coated: an armor-piercing round coated in superheated plasma.
Seeker: The rounds contain microscopic computers and gravity-bending generators, which are capable of tracking moving targets.
Phasing: contains microscopic computers and teleporters. When a round encounters an obstacle between it and it's target, it simply teleports past the obstacle and continiues towards the target.
Grenades are always effective weapons against crowds or hardened targets, and are available in many types.
Shrapnel: Similar to fragmentation grenades, shrapnel grenades propel aerodynamic shards through directional tubes at killing speeds.
Sonic Pulse: Generates a nonlethal pulse of hypersonics in a burst radius that deafens living targets for up to one minute.
EMP: releases an electromagnetic pulse in a 20-ft radius which shorts out all electrical devices and can seriously damage cyborgs.
Fireflush: contains a chemical compund which combusts upon making contact with oxygen.
Tangler: releases an incredibly sticky compund that hardens upon contact with air, encasing those caught in it's radius.
Dissolver: releases a cloud of gas that slowly dissolves organic matter in a 5-ft radius burst. Persists for up to 1 minute since the cloud is held in place because of an artificial gravity well.
Gravitic: releases incredible gravitational forces in a 10-ft radius.
Stun: can stun living creatures for up to one minute.
Cryonic: coats those caught in it's blast in a freezing substance, and can actually put dying or damaged targets into suspended animation.
Psionic: only effective against creatures with psychic abilities. Damages their ability to use their powers for up to 1 minute.
Singularity: generates a gravity field so powerfull that it actually bends space into a miniature black hole, instantly devouring all light and matter before collapsing and vanishing. It only has a 5-ft radius, and lasts for only a split-second, but can cause massive damage in it's wake, and can even absorb weak enough or wounded targets outright.
Laser weapons become the staple firearm, replacing combustion weapons. Thanks to the many different kinds of technologies available, many different kinds of lasers can be produced; from the commonplace short, self-contained beam, to the solid-streaming laser, and even spherical energy orbs and laser rings.
Mini-grenade Launchers are basically large pistol-sized versions of older grenade launchers. Even though it uses miniature-sized ammuntion, it is no less effective than it's normal-sized counterpart.
Mini-rocket Launchers are akin to mini-grenade launchers in that they are the size of large pistols, but of course fire small and potent rockets.
Tangler Guns fire a condensed pellet that coats it's target in an incredibly sticky compound that hardens upon contact with the air, rendering them immobile in a few short moments.
High Frequency Swords are one of the few melee weapons that survive into the future. Made of a durable alloy many times stronger than steel, blade is is vibrated at incredibly high speeds by microscopic machines in the hilt of the weapon. The wielder is protected by a soft hilt, but those struck by the blade are not so lucky.
Stun Batons are similar to the truncheons carried by police officers of old, though they emit a pulse of stunning energy when it strikes a target.
Concussion rifles fire artificial gravity pulses with enough force to hurl targets through the air, usually on a path away from the shooter. The gravity pulse itself is mostly transparent, but tends to bend light around itself, causing the air to ripple.
Concussion Rods look like medieval maces and have miniature artifical gravity generators embedded in their alloy heads, which increases their mass at the instant of impact.
Gravity snares resemble laser rifles, but with two metal prongs where the muzzle should be. The prongs generate a strip of luminescent energy when fired that leaps from the rifle to the target. When the energy strip strikes the target, the bolt bends and creates a ring of gravity around the target, which dissipates after one minute. The entrapped creature can still attempt to free itself, through dexterity or great strength, but either way is very difficult.
Plasma weapons fire blots of electrically charged and superheated gas with enough destructive force that it can eat through solid objects and cause severe damage. Like laser weapons, plasma weapons come in many varieties.
Rail Guns use gravity pulses, not magnets, to propel a projectile at high speeds, ususally metal spikes or shards.
Beam swords are possibly the most potent melee weapon. Basically a small metal handle that generates a solid beam of plasma contained within a gravity-induced force field.
Cryonic rifles are the most effective and portable example of cryogenic technology. Cryonic rifles propel a stream of compressed mutagen via an energy beam towards their target, hitting them with intense cold. It can even put wounded or dying targets into suspended animation.
Disintegrators resemble laser rifles. Disintegrators fire micro-singularities that obliterate a target's molecular structure on impact. Tend to have as much area of effect as a laser rifle. Living and non-living targets destroyed by disintegrators are vaporized.
Lightning guns are bulky weapons usually mounted on a tripod. It can fire a ray of electricity capable of sweeping over large areas quickly. They also tend to drain their power packs very quickly.
Pulse rifles are fully automatic laser assault rifles capable of rapidly bombarding targets in laserfire. Pulse rifles are ususally standared issue weapons for most military units.
Sonic Beam weapons fire pulses of destructive sound at targets, and can deafen targets capable of hearing for up to one minute.
