"Okay."
Sidney did just that, opening the retro-style door and sitting down in the push seat. She attached the personal restraint, slipped the key card in, and instantly the vehicle came to life, with only a slight purring indicating the advanced engine was on. Computer screens indicating various functions lit up, and Sidney looked them over, trying to recall her driver's liscence test.

Trent sat in the passenger seat, giving Sidney the time to get aquainted with everything while a the same time pointing out what everything in the control panels did.

His help worked wonders, and Sidney unnaturally adjusted well. After adjusting certain settings with voice commands, she turned the steering handle to guide the vehicle out. The vehicle wobbled a bit from her rough guidance, but gradually settled in.
She turned the wheel to pull out, but accidentally turned the wrong way. Only thanks to the emergency AI guidance system did they avoid crashing the rear into a wall.
"Oops."

Trent couldn't help but laugh from the surprise.
"It's alright, don't give up..!"

She blushed, and carefully maneuvered out again, this time not fumbling in her steering. Pulling out of the driveway she began to go along the largely empty road to Hastings. Even in the present day the state was still noteworthy for vast expanses of agriculture, hiding the vast leaps in genetics and farming that permeated it.
She passed a few more vehicles, some wheeled tractors, others regular hovercars lacking the radical form of the vehicle Sidney was driving. She turned to Trent and smiled, her driving steady.

Slowly, Sidney pulled up, increasing the slope of their ascent as they gained altitude. She briefly looked out the window as the ground retreated, and she settled them at a comfortable low altitude.

"Okay," Sidney said, casting a warm sidelong glance as she put them into a descent, turning around to return to the house. Soon enough they reached it, and with much better proficiency than before guided the vehicle into the driveway and set it down gently. Removing the key card she leaned back in her seat and yawned, stretching both arms.

"Evidently, you're a natural.." Trent joked as he got out of the car.

Sidney got out along with him.
"I suppose all those years of bus driving helped," she said, walking over to Trent.

"Now then, about that nap.." Trent sighed as he walked back into the house.

Sidney sighed alongside him. "Yes...that was tiring..."

Later that night..
Trent was wearing his typical trench coat, sunglasses and black gloves as he waited outside for Sidney to be ready.

She hurried out, wearing a loose jacket over a t-shirt and slacks, her hair tied behind in a ponytail.
"I'm ready," Sidney said, checking to make sure she had her phone with her.
