(OOC: Oooh, mystery++.)
Megalon's jab to the head was not exactly the reaction Anthracite had expected. The tortoise's head reeled from the blow and swung to his left, slumped over and just briefly stunned from the move.
Taking the cue to flee before the battle turned viscious, the hovercraft rushed to obtain the survivors on the shell. More willing to risk being over capacity due to the lack of aid, the remaining five members forced their way inside. However, one of their number was too enthralled with the enormous precious stone underfoot that he bent down for only a moment to chisel out a chunk. Over the whirring of the hovercraft and lost in greedy thought, he didn't notice the screams to hurry from the others. They can wait just a moment! I'm almost done, and if they're lucky, they may get a piece of it as well... or, imagine the research this could fund! Or... hey, my legs!
The man looked away from the chiseled spot to see the hovercraft sadly pull away, one of the women bawling at some tragic happening, then the man looked down to his legs, already encased in diamond. The man's eyes bulged in fear, but by the time he tried to make a sound, the layer of diamond had already moved to his chest, constricting him, and had just entered his open mouth. Eyes teared up for only a millisecond, the man succumbed to his fate and was enveloped in a diamond shell, killed by his own greed.
A beacon in the darkened sky, Anthracite's garnet was a pale blue and shone brightly, revealing the change in the monster. A shining and protective coating flowed all over the monster and hardened in an instant, converting the tortoise into a gleaming jewel on four legs. Anthracite's diamond-studded head rose back up to meet the multi-faceted eyes of Megalon and his eyes narrowed. Anthracite let out his final cry of warning, a sound mixed with what sounded like the faint tinging of glass, and charged.
